A Journey into Sikh Traditions: Gatka Brings Culture to Life for Students
November 20, 2024
Thank you to the amazing group from Michigan Gatka for teaching about Sikh Martial Arts. Religious Diversity Journey students from Rudolf Steiner School, Detroit Waldorf Academy, and Covington Middle School had a great time trying out the Kamand Toda. This weapon is usually made of iron or steel and is intended to disarm opponents. There were no opponents to disarm, so a less dangerous version of this weapon was brought and demonstrated for the students.
