Farmington Bridging to Belonging Group Nominated for Showcase Award
July 15, 2025
We are thrilled to acknowledge our own Farmington Area Bridging to Belonging Group for their nomination to be showcased during the inaugural Bridging Movement Summit hosted by the Listen First Project, taking place September 24–26, 2025, at George Washington’s historic Mount Vernon in Washington, D.C.
The Summit is designed to bring together bridge-building leaders and changemakers from communities across the country and celebrates the important work of building connection, trust, and understanding that is happening across our nation.
As part of the Summit’s kickoff, the Farmington Area Bridging to Belonging Group has been nominated to be featured at the Innovation Showcase & Awards Event on Wednesday, September 24, from 6:30–9:30 PM ET. Held in partnership with the George Washington Presidential Library at Mount Vernon, this event recognizes six outstanding teams whose work embodies the spirit of “walking a patriot’s path,” bridging divides and strengthening democracy in their local communities.
This nomination honors the Farmington group’s efforts and impact through the Bridging to Belonging program. Their dedication has created increased trust and connection in the Farmington community, laying the roots for sustainable change. Initiatives like the Juneteenth Celebration have grown under their leadership, serving as visible branches growing from these roots. The group’s ongoing outreach is also inspiring others to join this growing forest of bridge-builders, spreading a message of unity far beyond Farmington.
If selected as one of the six finalists, the Listen First Project will cover travel expenses for two representatives from the group to attend the event in Washington, D.C. Even if not selected, the event is open to all attendees and will be live-streamed, allowing supporters everywhere to witness this powerful celebration of community transformation.
This nomination is a tremendous honor, a recognition of the energy, time, and heart the Farmington Area Bridging to Belonging Group invests in their work every day. It reflects their commitment to creating spaces where differences are honored and communities can thrive together.
Congratulations!
