Summer of Impact through Project Healthy Arrival

August 19, 2024

As the summer has been flying by… we’re pleased to announce so many wonderful things that the Interfaith Leadership Council of Metro Detroit (IFLC) has been doing! Through our partnership with SEMPQIC, United Way, and MDHHS, Kerisha Henderson (our speaker for ” Bridging the Gaps Where We Belong,” had the pleasure of presenting at Mata Tripta Ji Gurdwara Sahib for the Sikh community on July 28th. This presentation drew a great crowd, filled with members of the community as well as medical professionals.

On August 2nd, Kerisha presented at Russell Street Baptist Church (Stancy Adams, pastor). The crowd was amazing and full of questions that helped to motivate the dialog to go further and engage in conversations that set the stage for healthy eating and healthy exercise practices to encourage healthy births where relevant…and to still continue the discipline of those practices even when maternity is not a factor.

On August 5th, during a live interview with WVTC Radio , Kerisha also discussed the work that the Interfaith Leadership Council has been doing. Allowing the various diverse houses of worship to be a source for access to blood pressure checks for the people of the community is just one of the many benefits the IFLC has sponsored. If you, or anyone you know, would like to experience this wonderful presentation, and gain access to free items, diapers, and an opportunity to win various gifts and gift cards please feel free to join IFLC at the Little Rock Baptist Church Considine Family Center 8904 Woodward Detroit MI 48202 Saturday, August 17th 2024 10am-1pm
