Special Screening of the Documentary Film LIST(e)N

April 14, 2024

The InterFaith Leadership Council is proud to announce a special screening of the documentary film LIST(e)N on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, organized by the Bridging to Belonging program and in partnership with the Plymouth District Library. This film screening is presented in connection with the National Week of Conversation.

This free event examines the question:

What happens when you invite people with opposing viewpoints on some of our most divisive issues – guns, abortion and immigration — to listen to each other?

LIST(e)N features participants whose lives are deeply intertwined within the issues of gun control, abortion, and immigration. As exchanges unfold and intentional listening occurs, participants experience unexpected moments of emotion and true connection. We all know how easy it is to dislike and distrust that which we do not understand. But what might happen when we take the time to build bridges and create belonging across differences, even when it feels difficult?

Watch the film trailer here: The List(e)n Courageously (80 minutes) award winning film.

As a partner of the InterFaith Leadership Council, we feel you will find this film screening particularly impactful. Our Bridging to Belonging program model utilizes storytelling, listening with intention, values recognition and appreciation, and group engagement to build trust and practice engaging with others in a way to build belonging. This is the very foundation of change the IFLC strives to co-create every day in all we do. It is a simple, intentional practice of making sure each individual we encounter feels seen, heard and valued.

The screening will be followed by a guided community discussion. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage together. Don’t miss this opportunity to be moved, challenged, and inspired.
