RABBI DALIA MARX, PH.D., is the Rabbi Aaron D.

Panken Professor of Liturgy and Midrash at Hebrew
Union College – the Reform Movement’s seminary in
Jerusalem. She is a 10th generation Jerusalemite, and
earned her doctorate at Hebrew University,
before receiving ordination from HUC.
Rabbi Marx is a leading expert on the connection
between ancient sacred text and the development
of ritual observance through the centuries. She has
written extensively for both academic and popular
journals, was the chief editor of the Israeli Reform
Movement’s new prayer book in 2020, and most
recently launched the English version of her book,
From Time to Time: Journeys in the Jewish
Calendar (http://time.ccarpress.org/).
