The Education Committee promotes understanding and appreciation of diverse faiths through education. Our goal is to teach about the various faith traditions, including the lesser-known faiths, and create safe environments for interfaith interactions to prevent one-sided faith education.

Our Impact So Far

The Education Committee of the InterFaith Leadership Council of Metropolitan Detroit is actively impacting our communities through a series of various initiatives:

Faith-Centered Events: Organizing events that invite people to different houses of worship, providing opportunities for experiential learning and understanding of various faith traditions.

Panel Discussions: Facilitating panel discussions to foster dialogue and share insights on diverse religious and cultural perspectives, promoting mutual understanding and respect.

Virtual Discussions: Leveraging virtual platforms to engage a wider audience in discussions about faith, allowing for inclusivity and accessibility.

Local Focus on Metro Detroit: Prioritizing a regional focus, particularly on Metropolitan Detroit, to bridge communities such as Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Baha’i, and many, many more. The committee aims to encourage cross-community visitation, breaking down barriers and promoting unity within neighboring cities.
