For the IFLC, our annual awards dinner is the culmination and celebration of a year’s worth of good works and the community partners that are our leaders, ground-breakers and guiding lights. At our recent 4th annual awards dinner, 325 supporters representing the spectrum of the community’s congregations and organizations, gathered to honor the idea of a just, civil, and peaceful society and the people who have dedicated their lives to creating it.
Each year, the IFLC gathers this assemblage. Each year we increase the numbers of adults and students participating in religious literacy programs. Each year we increase the numbers of partners in our interfaith network. Each year we increase the number of people who get news about interfaith events.
And each year, we tighten the connections between us, to the point where something extraordinary happens. And that extraordinary thing is that we have a huge group of people who find nothing extraordinary about walking into an event where Christians, Jews, Muslims, Sikhs, Bahai’s, Hindus, Buddhists, Zoroastrians, Wiccans, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and numerous other denominations and faith traditions are gathered in friendship and common purpose.
Thank you to each and every one of you who make these extraordinary interactions part of your everyday lives and who support the IFLC in working to broaden this circle.
